Dream, little one

Dream, little one, dazzling kaleidoscope;
moving, swirling images of sweet hope.
Within safe realm of imagination,
drift down swift rivers, past grand glacier,
climb snowy peak, lost in mountain range,
sail sea, explore grandeur of nature.
Sleep, little one, soak in silver moonbeam,
fill your heart with song, your mind with sweet dream.
Venture to darker corners, lantern held
with shadows dancing, step those narrow ways,
slay dragons, rescue prince, thus heart compelled
to live the story in glorious blaze.
Dream, little one, dazzling kaleidoscope;
moving, swirling images, fullest hope.

Sonnet 23 of 100

Kate is a wonderful friend with a fantastic taste for life and a superb talent for illustration. Today’s sonnet is inspired by a couple of her illustrations from her website: http://www.katealizadeh.net/. I love how she manages to capture the innocence of childhood alongside the deep, wide scope of life’s adventure. They certainly give life a fresh, new umph.
