Aflame with colour, a spectrum bursting
straight lines, soft splotches, spreading riot
speckled with white, and black hi-lighting
loud edges mixed with zones of bliss quiet;
a place of thought, of gentle reflection
as the mind lingers on smoothness, then spins
across chaos, filled with thought, with question
regarding this art, how it captures
inner moods: lightness and darkness; raptures
and carries soul in defeats amidst wins;
splintering heart, million directions,
ensuring conflictions, myriad emotions
then jutters to a stop. Lungful of air;
knowing within, beauty lurks there.

Sonnet 17 of 100

The above sonnet was inspired by the attached painting. The painting was created by a friend of mine who has a passion of bringing more light into this world, through any medium possible.
